Our Pentwater High School Quiz Bowl team traveled to Grand Ledge High School for a competition with 22 other teams on Saturday, 3/15. It was a day packed with many tricky questions spread over 10 rounds. Each round consists of 13 minute halves. Depending on the round and how many questions are answered, the students could hear up to 20 questions that are posed to either team. If a team answers a question correctly, they are then asked three bonus questions.  Quiz bowl participants who competed for PPS for the day were Eli Cook with 61 correct answers; Mikey Carlson with 31 correct answers; Lauren Davis with 16 correct answers; Maggie Jorissen with 7 correct answers and Cody Haight was our support and substitute for a couple of the rounds. Our ending record for the day was 4 wins and 6 losses. Coach Sisung was incredibly proud of how well they competed against the many larger schools across the state as well as the positive way they represented PPS!

A huge Camp Read S'more thank you goes out to our very own, Mr. Troy Holstad! Mr. Holstad spoke with kindergarten through 2nd grade classes and with 3rd through 6th grade classes today. Mr. Holstad used to be a Program Manager at a nearby summer camp. He taught the children what a day at summer camp could consist of and how it differs from going on a camping trip in the great outdoors. Students enjoyed his animated and exciting presentation.
