2025-2026 Fall Sports Athlete Recognition

Our PPS family of students, KG-12th, and staff participated in an assembly, Not In Our School, presented by The Lockout Company. This assembly was led by retired Ludington Area School administrator, Kevin Kimes, on Thursday, 11/13/25! Mr. Kimes brings his excitement and energy in this 30 minute assembly that provides a brief education on bullying, student skits as well as interactive songs with student participation. We are thankful to our PTCO (Parent-Teacher-Community Organization) for funding this meaningful program for our students and staff!

Team Ben is REEL Strong Shirt Order Form! Ben Jorissen is a brave 14 year old and in the 8th grade. He has been diagnosed with a malignant germ cell tumor on the brain after experiencing blurry vision and some headaches. He will be receiving chemotherapy treatments in Grand Rapids over the next four months with radiation therapy to follow. He will need all of our support and prayers during this fight.

The Jorissen's are a fun-loving family who enjoy fishing, the outdoors, the board game, Sorry, and each other. Sister Maggie and brother Colton are active in school and sports as is Ben. Mom, Kate, and dad, Brad, are both working parents and will be juggling transportation, the family home, pets and all three kids.

Their PPS family and community want to support them during this time and one of the ways is by purchasing a t-shirt with all of the proceeds going to the Jorissen family. In addition, the Childhood Cancer Campaign of Ludington will be matching all of the sales to donate to the family!

Another opportunity to support Ben is through Ben's Benefit through West Shore Eye Care/Shadz Sunglass Shop in Ludington. Dr. Goslin quickly recognized that something was not normal with Ben's vision and took immediate action. Thanks to her attentiveness and care, Ben's condition was diagnosed early and she helped him to get into the best hands at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital to begin treatment. West Shore Eyecare/Shadz Sunglass Shop is collecting donations to support the family as well. On November 21, 10% of all sales will be donated directly to help with the family expenses.

I have only had Carson in my class for a short time, but I also have the privilege of coaching him in cross country. He has such great manners and is always willing to help out!
Lexi has been a model Falcon during English class discussions. She always pauses to invite others to share, and she encourages others to add their ideas. She is a critical thinker, adding thoughtful insights in her work.
Alayna loves to come to school and is ready to learn each day! She's eager to participate and stays focus during learning and can be counted on to always be on-task no matter where we are at in the school. Alayna is always kind to her classmates, respectful of others personal space, and makes great choices. Alayna has done an amazing job showing a great enthusiasm for kindergarten!!!
Harris shows great concentration when drawing a still life.
A reminder that Pentwater Public Schools will be closed on Friday, 11/7/25; staff will be participating in professional development with all of the other schools in the WSESD! Thank you!
