A message from Dan Selahowski, Coordinator of Coin Wars, with money sent to the Ukrainian Children's Fund: "I wanted to express my gratitude to the Pentwater community, school staff and teachers, but especially to the K-12th grade students. In the last two weeks, you stood tall for a cause that is hundreds of miles away from the safety of our community. Through your enthusiasm and generosity, your Ukrainian fundraiser doubled its goal. Some may consider our donation as a drop in a bucket but your heartfelt donations filled the Pentwater School bucket to overflowing. Your kindness will never go unnoticed. Respectfully, Dan Selahowski"

Hola todos! We're absolutely loving everything about Costa Rica - the warmth, the sun, the animals, the marvelous people, the food and, of course, the adventure! Yesterday, horseback riding in the mountains was a blast, we planted trees in the cloud forest (we named ours Gilbert and Bruno) and then we hiked through the cloud forest to the very top! Today, we flew through the sky on 8 zip lines! We're winding up the day with a night hike to find frogs, sloths and anything else we can find. Tomorrow is the crocodile safari and the beach on the pacific coast. We hope your week is going well and we'll see you soon!

Shelby Rotary Club Wants To Send Kids to Camp!
The Shelby Rotary Club and the Community Foundation for Oceana County (CFOC) are pleased to offer the chance for Oceana youth to attend camp year-round. Camp experiences bring new skills and self-worth to our youth and build up the 4 C’s within them; compassion, contribution, commitment, and character. The Rotary Club and CFOC donors realize this impact, and work to ensure camp experiences are accessible to all, regardless of financial status. Awards are capped at $250 per applicant, but higher requests will be evaluated according to available funding. All awards will be paid directly to the camps and are available for any type of camping focus – arts, sports, scouts, church, general, and leadership experiences. There is no deadline, applications will be reviewed quarterly beginning in May. Preference is given to first-time requests. To apply for support, complete a quick, one page application today! Applications are available at all Oceana County schools, on the Foundation’s website at www.oceanafoundation.org, and at the Shelby Area District Library. Questions can be directed to Tiffany Haight at haightfour@gmail.com or by calling 231-873-1859.

Hola desde Costa Rica! On Monday, the group enjoyed the beautiful hanging bridges, including a waterfall! They enjoyed tortilla making and local coffee and a performance by local kids at El Fogon de Chela. They kayaked, swam and soaked up the sun! On Tuesday, they are leaving the Arenal Volcano area and heading to Monteverde Cloud Forest. They will enjoy horseback riding and hiking in the cloud forest. They are having a blast! Pura Vida!
