The Pentwater Green Schools Club spent the afternoon at the Lake Michigan Camp. While there, they planted dune grass and cleaned up the beach. It was a great way to celebrate Earth Day while giving back to our community. Go Falcons!

Pentwater Public School celebrated Earth Day in a variety of ways. The morning started out with members of the Green Schools Club reading stories to the students in grades K-12 with an Earth friendly theme. Later in the day, students watched movies about nature and enjoyed popcorn compliments of the PTCO. Students in grades 7-12 watched a movie called “The Elephant Queen'' about a herd of elephants navigating their way through a drought. It was a great day to remind students about the wonders of nature and the importance of taking care of our planet.

The Falcons baseball team traveled to Bear Lake on Thursday night for a league doubleheader. In the first game, Kaleb Brown pitched five innings, walking only one batter. Jonny Arnouts caught several fly balls in center field, helping to keep the team competitive. However, the Falcons struggled offensively and lost the game 10-0.
In the second game, Brody Austin pitched five innings and achieved five strikeouts. Malachi Bigsby made a couple of catches at shortstop, and Jonny Arnouts secured two more in center field. Despite their efforts, the Falcons' bats remained quiet, and they lost the second game 13-0.

Pentwater Softball came out strong against the Bear Lake Lakers with nine runs in the first inning. Sloppy play from both teams led to a tight back and forth first game with Pentwater's final push ending just short falling to the final score of 25-20. A combination of rain and light suspended game 2 after just one inning with Pentwater leading 6-3, highlighted by back-to-back triples from Charlie Swanger and Mandi Sayles.
Official record: 2-3

We hope to see you there!

The Falcons baseball team dropped 2 tough games to a seasoned Marion team on Monday. In the first game, Malichi pitched 4 1/2 innings and was relieved by Brody to finish the game. We picked up a couple of walks, mixed with a single by Malichi and Jonny, we were just unable to get anything going. End of game 1 17-0.
In game 2 Kaleb pitched 2 1/2 innings, and Brody finished the last 1 1/2. Jonny laid down a nice bunt to get on base getting the game started, but was left stranded on base. Brody hit a single in the 4th and was driven in when Kaleb hit a double giving us our 1 run. final score 16-1
Our next contest is Thursday vs Bear Lake at Bear Lake

Pentwater Falcons opened conference play against Marion, falling 14-1 in game 1 (5 innings) and 16-1 in game 2 (4 innings). Mandi Sayles shined at the plate with a line drive double into the right centerfield gap and single in the first game while Aubrie Adams pitched her debut in the second. Although the Falcons fell to the Eagles, players showed their immense growth this season and are poised for their next contest. Varsity Softball will be on the road this Thursday, 4/18, taking on the Bear Lake Lakers.
Official Record: 2-2

Reminder of the upcoming Principal/Superintendent interview schedule/s for Monday, 4/15, and Tuesday, 4/16

The Spanish and Art club made it home with a special thanks to all of our community partners! They had the fastest EVER re-entry into the United States as a result of the group t-shirts as well as a little luck and a lot of great manners!
"Traveling is the ruin of all happiness! There's no looking at a building after seeing Italy." - Fanny Burney (1752-1840) English Novelist and Playwright

The Spanish and Art club students ended their Italy trip by traveling to Rome where they walked around the city center and then toured the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. Amazed faces were the result of their visit to St. Peter's Basilica. They also saw the very famous Pieta, sculpted by Michelangelo in 1498! The group will be traveling back to the United States on Sunday, 4/14, exhausted but so grateful for the opportunity to tour Italy with its delicious foods, stunning architecture and rich history! Thank you to all those that supported our group in this latest adventure!

The Spanish and Art club adventurers visited Assisi, Italy where they learned that Santa Maria degli Angeli (Saint Mary of the Angels) and San Francisco (Saint Francis) were the namesakes of Los Angeles, CA, and San Francisco, CA. More places to explore!
