The White Lake Youth Theatre at The Playhouse just received word on the grant from Gerber Foundation which FULLY FUNDS every child from Oceana, Lake and Newaygo County to attend the full weeklong program (Jack & the Beanstalk) and every breakout session (different fields of study daily, June 17-22) and as well, The Hobbit workshop which auditions in August and goes up in October, so this is an amazing opportunity which we hope drops the financial hardship of the half hour commute to our newly renovated, 107 year old theatre just down in White Lake. Students from the counties listed above can register with code GRANT for free programs. The Playhouse at White Lake is located at 304 S Mears Ave Whitehall, MI 49461.
The Gerber Foundation has awarded The Playhouse at White Lake educational arts branch, the White Lake Youth Theatre $3,900 through their fiscal sponsors, The Friends of the Playhouse. Students ages 5-15 receive full funding and free programming for June through October, while funds remain. Please register online at http://theplayhouseatwhitelake.org/index.php. Email davis-dykema@cityofwhitehall.org with questions and spaces are limited to 60 students.
FYI all program are also open at the costs listed to students elsewhere, but the Gerber grant covers the local kids listed in the counties above. Please feel free to call with any questions!

Abe VanDuinen ran his final meet as a high school athlete tonight at the MITCA Champions of Champions Track & Field Festival held in Davison Michigan. He ran the 3200 in a time of 9:41.91 which is a 15 second PR and breaks his own school record for the last time!
Abe holds the Pentwater School records in the 800, 1600, 3200 and also has the cross country record! What a phenomenal high school career he has had as a Falcon! This is a direct result of his passion, dedication and commitment to running. We are all so proud of his accomplishments and wish him all the best as a Calvin Knight!

The first grade class asked me for Prime everyday for weeks at lunchtime. Yesterday I surprised them all. Thanks to Pentwater Convenience Center for ordering the Prime for me. Have a great summer!

Wow, we couldn't have asked for a better end of year field trip with our 2nd Graders! The weather turned out beautiful. We had a super fun time on Mac Woods Dune Rides and climbing Little Point Sable Lighthouse. Thank you, parents, for your help and taking the time to be with us. It was a quiet and relaxed bus ride back to school. Many happy, tired kids. You're welcome :) Mrs. Fleming - 2nd Grade Teacher
Junior high students attended an interdisciplinary field trip to Muskegon! We learned about paleontology at the Lakeshore Museum, learned about John Stewart Curry at the Muskegon Museum of Art and enjoyed a Mexican lunch at Los Amigos!

Book Swap Reminder

The season concluded for Pentwater Varisty Softball as they fell to White Cloud in the second District game this Friday, May 31. White Cloud's strong hitting accompanied by a handful of errors from Pentwater put the Falcons into an early hole. A scorching single by Charlie Swanger in the bottom of the third after Karina Oliveraz got on base put pressure on White Cloud.. However, the Indians were able to stop the rally and seal the victory 20-0. Thank you all for your support this season and we look forward to next year as our young team continues to grow and compete. Final Record: 3-10
Our five Falcons had a great showing at the State Track & Field meet today held in Hudsonville. Abe VanDuinen placed 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 4:20.87 and 7th in the 800 with a new PR time of 1:59.10 which is also a new school record. Both finishes earned him All-State honors. Mitchel Daniels placed 18th in the 3200 with a new PR by three seconds finishing in 10:13.34 . The 4 x 100 relay team of Mitchel Daniels, Ben Merten, Logan Fatura and Chase McGuire-VanGills also set a new PR today with a time of 46:98.
The athletes enjoyed a fun night going out to dinner, swimming, and playing at an arcade. Thank you to the Sports Boosters and Pentwater Athletics (Ralph Baker) for supporting this opportunity for our kids.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our team throughout this entire season. A special thanks to Coach VanDuinen for all of her hard work as my assistant coach. I would also like to thank Jesse Rodriguez and Yumi Nyberg for dedicating their time to helping the program. Lastly, thank you to all of the families and friends of the athletes. Supporting the needs of 27 takes a lot! You all have had a hand in helping this Falcon team fly higher. We are grateful for your continued support. Go Falcons!! 💜💛
