Jane Gustafson (Morrison) shared her Pentwater Public School Class of 1965 reunion photo; the Class of 1965 had 21 in their graduating class and in September they had their 60th class reunion at the Pentwater VFW! Please feel free to share any alumni photos or updates with us as we celebrate being Pentwater Falcons!
Pentwater Esports week 2 and 3 update: the last two weeks have had several scheduling changes, requiring flexibility. I am proud of how we have adapted to all the changes.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate week 2 found us up against Calumet High School, whom we had already played in pre-season. Unfortunately, they were unable to field a team, so we won by default. In week 3, we competed against Central Montcalm Middle-High School, winning by 6 points each time. Our team in week 3 was also a little different as Rodney could not make it, so the team was Alden Grondsma, Xach Davis, and Meya Case. Next week, we are scheduled to face the Essexville-Hampton schools, hoping our momentum continues.
Looking forward to what Rodney Grondsma, Alden Grondsma, and Xach Davis can do against this next opponent.
Rocket League, as the new to our teaas been off to a bit of a rocky start. In week 2, we were scheduled to play Grand Rapids West Catholic; however, they asked to reschedule to today, 10/16, due to scheduling conflicts among their players. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it again, so we got a forfeit win. Our week 3 game was against St. Joseph High School, and they had a player who dominated the match. We did lose to them, but we learned a lot in that match.
Looking forward to week 4 against Portage Central High School and seeing what Michael Smith, Aiden Henry, and Anthony Acosta can accomplish.
In Mario Kart week 2, we played against Romeo High School, Lake Shore High School, and East Kentwood High School. Pentwater racers were Jane Howard and Alden Grondsma. The other three teams were very competitive, and we found ourselves fighting for every position to increase our points. We ended up coming in third overall after all three games, even with a tie for second place in the final set of four races. Week 3 for Mario Kart was another first: we won with Jane Howard and Bailey Case taking first or second place in each race, beating the team from Pewamo-Westphalia High School. Unfortunately, it was only a three-team matchup, and the other team from Northwest High School did not field a team. As for our week 4 competitors, I don't know who they will be. There are currently 21 other teams in this game title.
As we move toward week 4, which marks the halfway point of the season if you count the playoffs, I am proud of how all the teams are doing this season, even if we aren't winning every competition. The laughter and sportsmanship during practice and competition make me happy to be their coach.

It's Great Lake's Apple Crunch time at Pentwater Public Schools and we are joining early care centers, colleges, hospitals and other organizations across the Great Lakes Region states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa and Ohio in the eighth annual Great Lakes Great Apple Crunch. Participants celebrate National Farm to School Month and local farmers by crunching into RENNHACK ORCHARD APPLES at 2:00pm local time on Wednesday, October 15th.
This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports farm to school and local food initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region. Thank you for doing your part to get us to 1.2 MILLION Crunches!
