Advanced chemistry and chemistry students in Mrs. Fatura's classes were given the chance to demonstrate an inquiry-based chemistry lesson to Mrs. Macher's third-grade students. This lab experience revolved around unraveling the scientific principles behind a fascinating toy known as "wack a packs." Witnessing both sets of students enthusiastically engaged was so uplifting. In addition to this memorable chemistry experience, the high school students were pleasantly surprised to receive heartfelt thank you letters from the students they collaborated with. The sincere reflections on the 3rd graders gained knowledge were very touching. These remarkable opportunities, exclusive to our K-12 district, hold great significance for students across all grade levels.

Penwtater Falcons take on the winner of Walkerville and BRCAA in the second round of District Play on Wednesday, 2/26/25 at 5:30pm. All games will be played at Mason County Eastern.
The Falcons secured a hard-fought non-conference win over neighboring Shelby, pulling away in the second half to claim victory. The first half was a back-and-forth battle, but the Falcons took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers 20-12. Their relentless rebounding and defensive pressure proved to be the difference as they pulled away for a strong finish. Score by Quarter: Pentwater: 16 - 30 - 50 - 70 Shelby: 14 - 10 - 12 - 21 Key Player Performances: Mikey Carlson: 27 Points, 15 Rebounds Jonny Arnouts: 10 Points, 9 Rebounds, 6 Assists, 2 Steals Trey Johnson: 17 Points, 8 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal Kaleb Brown: 14 Points, 8 Rebounds Brody Austin: 2 Points, 2 Rebounds, 1 Assist Abram Kieda: 1 Rebound, 1 Block Nathan Macher: 3 Blocks, 13 Rebounds. Pentwater’s dominance on the boards was a major factor in the victory, as they out-rebounded Shelby by a wide margin. Nathan Macher and Mikey Carlson controlled the paint, combining for 28 rebounds, while Jonny Arnouts and Trey Johnson crashed the boards from the perimeter to secure extra possessions. Mikey Carlson, after a 27 point performance, is now only 11 points away from 1,000 career points. We look forward to his leadership, scoring, and team honors on Thursday! On the defensive end, the Falcons’ intensity and ball pressure by Kaleb Brown kept Shelby’s offense in check. Arnouts and Johnson forced key turnovers, while Macher protected the rim with three big blocks. The defensive effort was especially evident in the second quarter, where Pentwater held Shelby to just 10 points, and again in the third, limiting them to 12 while extending their lead. With the win, Pentwater improves to 17-2 overall (11-1 in conference) and remains in first place. They are now just one game away from clinching the conference title, with the opportunity to do so at home against Mesick on Thursday! Score by Quarter: Pentwater: 16-14-20-20 Shelby: 14-10-12-21
