In the final week of the Esports regular Fall season, 2 out of the 3 teams had a huge shot at going to states. Team 2 had a spot clinched, while Team 1 needed to win a round to go. While Team 2 lost against Jackson SSBU 3-0 this week, Team 1 got a huge win against Charlotte Black SSBU and made it in. Team 2 is ranked 14th, while Team 1 is now ranked 7th. The top 32 teams make it to states. Team 3 had a good run, but their season has been cut short with a loss to Mason-Bedford. Every team played extremely well this season, and I am proud that we can take 2 teams into states on December 9th.

4th and 5th grade Student Artists learned from guest speaker and school board member, Kelsey Prescott, about juju masks and other traditions from Kelsey's time in the Peace Corps serving in Cameroon (Central Africa).

Congratulations to all of our newly inducted members of the Pentwater Chapter of the National Honor Society! Mackenna Hasil, Nathan Macher, Jane Howard, Lauren Davis, Logan Fatura, Samuel Gaylard and Bode Powell

Esports played this Tuesday, and every team did a phenomenal job. Team 1 played against a tough Garber SSBU team. In the first round, Rodney Grondsma was able to get the first person but got out shortly after. Jack Roberts subbed in and got the next person out, and Logan Fatura was able to do the rest, their team winning that match 3-0. Team 2 played against Charlton Heston, another tough team. Alden Grondsma was able to start every round, getting one, while Bode Powell was able to get their second every time. Adelaide Akins came in clutch, getting their third, winning it for the team with a score of 3-0. Team 3 played against Lawrence in another close battle. However, Bailey Case, Wayne Musil, and Michael Smith all were able to take out one of their members, winning it for the team 3-0 once again. Every team has been doing phenomenally so far, and with the season almost over, I’m excited to see how far these teams will go.

Pentwater finished the volleyball conference season in 2nd place with a 9-1 record, only losing to Brethren. Pentwater played MCE in the opening round of District tournament play, and with that win, Pentwater landed in the District Championship game, where they took on BRCCA. Pentwater lost that match, unfortunately, ending our season with a 9-2 conference record.
WMD League all-conference awards are as follows:
Senior Samantha Schaefer: 1st team all-conference
Sam played as an outside hitter and had a 95% serving accuracy only missing a total of 12 serves all year. She averaged 14 kills per game. Sam could place her hits and was well aware of where people were on the other side of the net.
Junior Mandi Sayles: 2nd team all-conference.
Mandi was Pentwaters' opposite hitter. She was dominant at the net using both her left and right hand. Mandi can place her serve on the court with a power serve or by floating it over. Mandi averaged 4 kills per game and had a serving percentage of 83%. This was Mandi's 2nd year of ever playing volleyball and we are excited to have her back for her senior year.
Sophomore Charlie Swanger: 2nd team all-conference. Charlie is Pentwaters’ setter and was also only in her 2nd year of ever playing volleyball. Charlie took the second hit 80% of the time all season with set assistance averaging 19 sets a game. Charlie's serving percentage was 88%
Junior Addison Bringedahl: Honorable mention all-conference. Addison was also an outside hitter. Addison's serving percentage was 73%. Addison was an all-around player, knowing the court on both sides. Addison played the net tough and placed her hits where they needed to be. She played back-row defense and would chase or dig anything. She stepped up this year and is looking forward to her senior year.
