Incredibly proud of this Varsity Falcon team tonight! The JV started off with a great win and the varsity fought for 32 minutes and earned a victory, 56-53! The Bobcats came into the game leading the league with an undefeated record and we knew that every possession mattered in an evenly matched conference showdown. With balanced team play, the Falcons were able to contain their size inside the paint and quick guards outside. Kaleb Brown had a huge night with 18points! He hit 6 for 11 from the field and brought down 12 rebounds. Kaleb also locked in at the line to add a few more buckets to keep our 2-3 point lead to the final buzzer. Jonny Arnouts facilitated and played an incredibly smart game dishing out 7 assists and had 13 pts, 3 steals and 5 rebounds. Both Trey Johnson and Will Werkema-Grondsma added a combined 17 points with 9 and 5 boards respectively. Nathan Macher, Mikey Carlson and several other Falcons contributed big minutes to help assist in a HUGE win! Way to go, Falcons! Conference: 2-0 Overall: 2-0. Big thanks to all the Fans supporting the Falcons tonight!

For the Falcon's opening night, it was a tale of two halves. The first half both teams battled it out for consistency and chemistry. The Falcons traded buckets with the Wildcats and managed to have a 2pt lead at half. The second half, after several adjustments, the game went more the Falcon's way. Trey Johnson, Will Werkema Grondsma and Jonny Arnouts led the charge knocking down several buckets. Mikey Carlson hit the boards hard and Nathan Macher helped contain their post inside to help the Falcons take a 10 point advantage. Defensively, Jonny was all over the court and led the charge in transition feeding several Falcon players assists! Great team win, 55-36. overall: 1-0Conference: 1-0 Trey Johnson 21pts, 2 steals Will Werkema Grondsma: 11pts, 12Rb, 3 ast; Jonny Arnouts: 8pts, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists; Mikey Calrson 11 pts, 16 boards, 2 steals; Abram Kieda: 4pts, 3 rebounds; Nathan Macher 1 rebound; Lucus Werkema Grondsma: 4 rebounds, 1 assists

In the final week of the Esports regular Fall season, 2 out of the 3 teams had a huge shot at going to states. Team 2 had a spot clinched, while Team 1 needed to win a round to go. While Team 2 lost against Jackson SSBU 3-0 this week, Team 1 got a huge win against Charlotte Black SSBU and made it in. Team 2 is ranked 14th, while Team 1 is now ranked 7th. The top 32 teams make it to states. Team 3 had a good run, but their season has been cut short with a loss to Mason-Bedford. Every team played extremely well this season, and I am proud that we can take 2 teams into states on December 9th.

4th and 5th grade Student Artists learned from guest speaker and school board member, Kelsey Prescott, about juju masks and other traditions from Kelsey's time in the Peace Corps serving in Cameroon (Central Africa).
