Students in Mrs. Fatura 's high school forensic science class participated in an "unnatural nature" observation activity. A lot of household objects were hidden in a designated area and students tried to find as many as they could. The toothpick and safety pin proved to be the most challenging!

The Falcons competed at the Ludington Invite at West Shore Community College today. It was a tough course and the day heated up quickly, but we had some phenomenal performances. In total, the Falcons took home 6 medals and set 3 personal records. First up were the varsity boys. Wyatt Roberts was our top finisher earning a medal for 17th place in a time of 20:12.78. Tyler Zimmer also earned a medal for his 27th place finish in a time of 22:03.58. He fell at the beginning of the race and was able to come from behind and finish strong. Michael Smith took over 5 minutes off of his time last year on this course. For the varsity girls, Bailey Case finished in 8th place in a time of 23:42.10, which earned her a medal. The middle school boys heated up the competition as the temperatures increased! Skyler Compton earned a medal and a PR for his 12th place finish in a time of 13:42.72. Colton Jorissen and Jordy Miller earned a PR today as well. Jordy took off over 2 minutes from his last PR on a very challenging course. Ben Jorissen earned a season best today running a time of 16:57.95. School Picture Day Reminder!
The Pentwater Falcons traveled to Fremont to compete in the Hill & Bale meet. The course has several hay bale obstacles set up to jump and climb over! This was our first time attending this meet and we will definitely be going back. It was challenging, but the kids had fun! For the varsity boys, Wyatt Roberts was just out of reach of a medal placing 16th. On the varsity girls side, Bailee Case and Lauren Davis both earned a medal by placing 5th and 14th respectively. The middle school team was on fire! Ayla Kokx earned a medal by placing 10th overall for the girls. New personal records were set by Carter VanDuinen, Jordy Miller, Colton Jorissen, Lauren Macher and Karoline Slotegraaf! Many of them took minutes off of their race times from Wednesday on a course with obstacles. Ben Jorissen was the first Falcon boy to finish in 30th place overall. It is exciting to see this young team improve and start to figure out the joys of cross country. The Falcons will have a good training week as we don’t compete again until next Saturday at the Ludington Invitational hosted at West Shore Community College. Go Falcons!
