The Falcons hit the road tonight against the Bobcats of Brethren in a non-conference match-up. The first quarter the Falcons knew they had to slow down the inside post game of the Bobcats. Shooting started flat for the Falcons squad but Trey Johnson got fouled early from 3 to knock down his shots from the line as a little motivation. Facing an early deficit, the team had to work out of a hole they created with turnovers and missed shots. However, the team worked defensively to close the gap to 1 point at the end of the first, 11-12 Brethren The second quarter belonged to the Falcons as they held the Bobcats to only four points scoring and got their post player in early foul trouble. Mikey Carlson and Trey Johnson led the way for the Falcons in the second quarter scoring seven and five points. Jonny Arnouts pushed the tempo of the offense while several Falcons off the bench, including Nathan Macher, created a defensive stop in most possessions. Nathan stepped up in front of the big man in the middle and helped propel the Falcons at half to be up 27 to 16. In the third quarter, the Brethren Bobcats jumped out early and hit three, three-pointers to tie the game at 27 apiece. Mike Carlson stepped up offensively again with Trey Johnson to find the inside and outside game. Kaleb Brown gave a burst of energy to the defensive side of the ball to allow for strong transition and a pull away lead. Trey Johnson also in transition made a great pass to Wyatt Roberts for an easy bucket to the quarter 35 to 29. The final stanza of the game the Falcons were able to extend their lead scoring 12 more points. We held the Bobcats to only six defensively. Jonny Arnouts ended the game with a solid stat line leading the team in rebounds with 9, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Mikey Carlson had a big night down low with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Trey Johnson has been consistent each game scoring another 18 points tonight with 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. It was a total team effort to win another game and capture the team's sixth win overall, great job, Falcons! The Falcons are now 6-0 on the season! Overall: 6-0 Conference: 2-0 Score by quarter Pentwater: 11-16-8-13 Brethren: 12-4-13-6 Jonny Arnouts:2 points, 6 ast, 9 rebounds, 4 steals; Trey Johnson: 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals; Mikey Carlson: 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals; Kaleb Brown: 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal; Brody Austin: 1 rebound; Nathan Macher:2 rebounds, 1 steal; Tyler Douglas: 1 rebound; Abram Kieda: 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block. Dynamic... Teamwork...Discipline...  These three traits are what controlled the tempo of an excellent non-conference match-up vs. Muskegon Catholic Central and the Falcons of Pentwater. A well seasoned Falcon squad had to maintain their mental focus tonight in a battle  that was fought in each quarter, minute by minute. The first half was extremely physical and every bucket was earned with contact. Mikey Calson, Trey Johnson and Johnny Arnouts led the team in scoring in the first quarter by using our inside and outside game. Even though MCC put incredible pressure on our guards, they kept their mental focus and handled the press well. End of 1st: 18-16 Falcons The second quarter was more of the same...The Falcons were able to get MCC's best post in early foul trouble and this gave the Falcons a chance to extend the lead at the half 31-26. Mikey Carlson, Abram Kieda, and Nathan Macher controlled the block area and all contributed in scoring. While Trey Johnson, under extreme pressure was able to find another 3 buckets! The second half had a different tempo and feel to it. The Falcons had to make some big adjustments defensively and as a team were able to flow with their chemistry in transition. Kaleb Brown used his incredible speed to break down the full court press and knock down several layups. Jonny Arnouts and Trey Johnson came alive offensively, finding contact and getting to the free throw line. These two guards' poise and determination led us into the final stanza of the game. It goes without saying that it takes a TEAM to pull off big wins. The Falcons did just that down the stretch. The Falcons capitalized on small leads and found ways to get defensive stops down the stretch. The battle at the line kept the Falcons with a steady 4 point lead, and allowed for a huge WIN! IT was a total team effort!! So proud of you all! 66-62  Conference: 2-0 Overall: 5-0 Score by quarter Pentwater: 18-13-15-20 MCC: 16-10-16-20 Jonny Arnouts: 17points, 2 rebounts, 4 steals, 2 assists Trey Johnson: 22 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals Mikey Carlson: 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 steal  9 Double Double) Kaleb Brown:7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 ast Brody Austin: 4 rebounds, 1 ast Nathan Macher: 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals Tyler Douglas: 3 rebounds, 1 ast Abram Kieda: 2 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals

Third place!!!! I am incredibly proud to announce that the Mario Kart team of Bailey Case and Jane Howard came in third place out of 16 that made it to the finals! It was an exhausting and intense day. The team came in second in the second match of races, securing our place in the final 4. We went into the second round of 4 races in the finals match in second place by 3 points, but the next 4 races were incredibly tight. The difference between places was a blink of an eye. As a coach I am very proud of how well we did today and all the new experiences we had. As a coach, I have the opportunity to nominate my players for different awards. Both players I nominated won Honorable Mentions in their respective categories. I have the pleasure of announcing that Bailey Case won Honorable Mention for Sportsmanship. I will post later who won in the Scholar-Athlete category after I tell them in person as they ended up being unable to attend the finals in person. This fall season has been so much fun with many new opportunities and challenges.

The Falcons started the night focused and ready to battle a conference rival, Baldwin. The first quarter was an exciting one that was filled with lots of offense and great shooting by both teams. The Falcons had the upper hand led by Trey Johnson knocking down 10 points. Six Falcons Scored this quarter to end the 1st up 23-15. The second quarter was more about defensive stops. The Falcons stepped up and held the Panthers to only 7 points while only scoring 10 hard earned points.
