BAND SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!
Mercedy Sayles
Instrument: Bass Clarinet
Favorite Band Piece: My favorite piece from band would have to be Nevermore, by Brian Balmages. It was a really fun piece to play and I loved how much the low voices would get to come out.
Best Band Memory: My favorite part of band was always getting ready for a concert because behind the scenes we would all be like mentally preparing ourselves for what we were about to do.
Why Music is Important: Music is important to me because it lets you let your emotions go and have fun times or serious times no matter how stressful everything around you is.
Plans for the Fall: My plan for next fall is to go to West Shore Community College to go into Agriculture Operations.

Happy Earth Day from the Green Schools Club! 🌏

BAND SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!
Terra Cluchey
Instrument: Saxophone
Favorite Band Piece: My favorite band piece was Jungle Dance, by Brian Balmages because it was just challenging enough for me that I always learned something new each time I played it. It also made me want to dance!
Best Band Memory: My favorite band memory was getting a one at band festival this year. I just had such a blast playing music with my fellow seniors!
Why Music is Important: Music has always been something very special to me. My father taught me to play the guitar and sing at a very young age, but band gave me the opportunity to find my true love, the Saxophone!
Plans for the Fall: I’m going to be continuing my apprenticeship at Gayle’s Salon and Spa to obtain a license in cosmetology!

Earth day 2020 is this Wednesday, April 22nd! On behalf of the Pentwater Green Schools Club, here are several activity ideas to help celebrate! Please share out what you did! Happy Earth Day! 🌏

BAND SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!
Makaylah Cornelisse
Instrument: Clarinet
Favorite Band Piece: My favorite piece that we played is one hundred percent Nevermore, by Brian Balmages. It was an intense and fun piece and the audience and the band both loved it.
Best Memory from Band: My best memory of band is when the band was making hand puppets in the projector light while we were waiting for our district rating.
Why Music is Important: It’s a good way to express feelings and it helps our ability to not only express how we’re feeling but the emotion that the piece we’re playing depicts.
Plans for the Fall: This fall, I am going to attend Grand Valley State University. I will be majoring in photography and going for my Bachelor’s of Arts degree.

Hey all you Pentwater students and families!
I know that over the past several weeks, my days have been filled with the sounds of different playlists that Spotify generates for me based on my current listening interests - as I’m sure your days have, too! In times of uncertainty, happiness, relaxation, honestly… you name an emotion… my playlist finds a way to shape the experience that I’m having.
Students of all ages, moms, dads, siblings, friends, cats, dogs, and most importantly, music makers, I challenge you to email me an image of one of the following and I will create a new post next week with your Songs/Albums of Quarantine 2020 (school appropriate of course!!!), no explanation needed:
-Your top/favorite song/album right at this moment.
-Your top/favorite songs/albums in a collage (I’d try to keep it to 5 images… but you’ll see that I chose 6, I just couldn’t limit it anymore!)
The arts have a way of finding us all during extraordinary times and tend to shape our experiences for the better. Let’s share with each other our top song(s)/album(s) of Quarantine 2020 by sending images to me! Here’s mine!
Please send images to hhunsberger @ pentwater. k12. mi. us
Happy Listening,
Ms. H
