Love, Inc of Oceana County is partnering with Pentwater Baptist Church to distribute activity kits for kids for Pentwater students. Distribution will take place every Thursday beginning July 16 for four weeks. Distribution times will be from 10am - 11:30am at the Baptist Church in Pentwater. These are fun activity kits along with encouragement cards and numbers for CMH and Love, Inc. in the event they need to talk with someone and process everything that is happening in our communities during this pandemic!

Conditioning for cross country started last night! It felt so great to be doing some team activities again. We had a great run at the Hart trail! Anyone is welcome to join. Contact Coach Fatura at (231) 852-0183 with any questions or for a schedule and information regarding the guidelines we need to follow.

Our graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 will take place on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 7pm in the Village Green park in downtown Pentwater. We ask that those in attendance bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on as well as face masks/coverings to protect all in attendance. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the school gymnasium, however, admission will be limited to two (2) guests per graduate. We are looking into live streaming possibilities (with a possible fee) to allow those who are unable to attend in person to witness this joyous occasion! If we are forced to have the ceremony in the school building, it will still be at 7pm. We are hoping that it will be a gorgeous day so that we can celebrate in the Village Green!

Good morning, If your student/s still have textbooks or other classroom items that need to be returned, you may drop off in our front foyer from 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. There is a drop box in our foyer for books to be returned; if they cannot fit, please stack on the top of the box. PLEASE NOTE: Do not leave chromebooks in the foyer, make sure there is someone in the building to check the computer in. You may call the office if you have any questions at 869-4100 ex. 210. Meet Theo!

Dear Families and Friends, Next week on Thursday, June 4, 2020, we will be collecting all Chromebooks and text/library books at the back of the school building where the buses load/drop off students. We will be collecting from 10am - 11:30am. Please enter the drive from the East Hanover Street entrance and drive up to the back door to drop off any items you may need to return to the school. You will then be able to drive by the front of the school building (parade style) for you and your students to wave and say goodbye to teachers and wish each other a great summer break! We thank all of you for your cooperation, patience and continued support throughout this mandated school closure period. Any 6th-12th grade Student Artists who still had sketchbooks or art in classroom cubbies, in a display or Art Show can pick up their work Tuesday during packet pickup at the bus barn! Excluded is work in the State show, library, or the WSCC Show.

NHS graduates with honors!

Emme Tarnowski, daughter of Sarah Tarnowski and Nate Tarnowski, is our final Pentwater 2020 graduate that we are honoring today! Emme plans on attending West Shore Community College to earn an Associates degree in welding and a possible Associates degree in Mechatronics with a future career goal of entering fabrication or building construction. Emme, follow your dreams, we are incredibly proud of you! Congratulations to all of our Pentwater 2020 graduates!

Mitchell Smith, son of Melissa Hutchins and Mark Smith, is a Pentwater 2020 graduate! Mitchell's plan is obtain an apprenticeship with the Iron Workers Local 25! Mitchell, we know you're going to do great things, we are proud of you!

Mercedy Sayles, daughter of Melanie Sayles and the Late John Sayles, plans on attending West Shore Community College in the Agriculture Operations program. Some day, Mercedy hopes to have a lamb farm! Follow your dreams, Mercedy, we are so incredibly proud of you! Your dad would be incredibly proud of what you have accomplished, go girl!

Cienna Ruggles, daughter of Lorrie and Travis Veine, and John Ruggles, is a Pentwater 2020 graduate! Cienna plans on attending Ferris State University for the next three years to become a dental hygienist. We wish you the best of luck, Cienna, we are incredibly proud of you!

Julien Nyberg, son of Yumiko and Mitch Nyberg, is a Pentwater 2020 honor graduate! Julien plans on attending The University of Michigan to study Mechanical Engineering to pursue a career path in the engineering field. We are incredibly proud of you, Julien, and wish you the best at U of M, Go Blue!

The Pentwater Public Schools' Board of Education approved participation in the 2020/2021 Schools of Choice 105/105c programs. The application can be found on our website under Students/Parents/Perspective Families/Registration Forms. The proposed plan for our 2020 graduation ceremony will be: Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 7:00pm at the "Village Green", which, of course, will be COVID-19 and weather dependent. If the weather does not permit an outdoor graduation ceremony, we will have the school gymnasium as a rain site. If the COVID restrictions do not allow us to have a ceremony with a large gathering, we will have the ceremony in the school gymnasium with crowd restrictions with each graduate permitted two (2) guests with live streaming being available for others. We would provide and arrange for safe distancing and safety measures for the ceremony for our students, board and staff. Thank you!
